Kabelo Mofokeng is a photographer and film maker based in Spruitview, a residence in the East Rand of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was in 2009 that Mofokeng began her journey as a visual storyteller. Mofokeng enrolled at AFDA, a film and television institution in Auckland Park Johannesburg. Mofokeng acted, produced and filmed numerous student movies, during her time at AFDA. In 2014 Mofokeng enrolled at VEGA, an advertising and brand management institution in Randburg Johannesburg. VEGA equipped Mofokeng with branding and copy writing skills, which Mofokeng put to use in her story telling. With the desire to narrate visually, in both picture form and motion picture, Mofokeng enrolled at The Market Photo Workshop, refining her documenting skills. It was at The Market Photo Workshop that Mofokeng began to work with multimedia. In September of 2019 Mofokeng interned AT OUT WELL-BEING, an organization that assists members of the LGBTQI+ community with legal representation, medical aid and sexuality and gender-based education. Mofokeng was tasked with profiling contestants of a beauty pageant. The internship resulted in Mofokeng being a part of a showcase at The State Theatre in Pretoria, as well as a Sexuality and Gender based activation in Newtown Johannesburg.
